The Bonnies in Hawaii

We arrived in Hawaii nearly 19 hours after we set out on our little excursion. Fighting through a plane change in Detroit because of a wing issue and nearly starving to death because the airlines have decided food is a luxury and not a necessity, we arrived in Hawaii at 8:40pm which would be 2:40am EST.

We were greeted by our bus driver Mark, who let us know what we needed to know about the island and drove us to our hotel where we listened to live music and had chicken wings and volcano nachos at Jimmy Buffett's Restaurant that is located in the lobby of our hotel. Our waiter, Billy can also sing...he belted out Michael Jackson's, Billy Jean like he wrote it! The ladies got up to dance before we sat down and began our feast. It was a great start.

Woke up this morning about 6am which is 12pm EST to find blue skies and a temperature of 70 degrees. I am on the 16th floor with a beautiful view of the ocean. Monday is our FREE DAY...the ladies are free to do anything they like today (within the team rules) with family or with each other around the Waikiki area. My guess is that most of them will be on the beach. I am headed there myself after I finish this.

I will be posting video and pictures later. I am looking forward to the weekend when we play Hawaii...South Dakota State and Weber State. GO BONNIES!

Jen Bovee elected to SBU Hall of Fame

Congratulations to Jen Bovee. The first SBU softball player elected into the SBU Hall of Fame. We are all proud of her. Jen is a wonderful representative for the softball program.

Jen deserves this honor and I am looking forward to seeing her in June. I am hoping to get as many current and former Bonnies on campus for the induction ceremony as I can. Please join us June 11th!
